Meet the Founder

Matt Genovese

Founder & CEO, Planorama Design · Chief Product Officer, FlashQuery

I have spent nearly 30 years building high-tech products across both hardware and software, from transistor-level chip design to enterprise AI platforms.

My career began as a chip design and functional verification engineer at Motorola, where I developed a deep understanding of systems from the ground up. In functional verification, I was responsible for defining rigorous test strategies and ensuring product readiness, making sure complex subsystems functioned correctly from day one and integrated seamlessly into larger environments. The principles I mastered in hardware (precision, validation discipline, and system integration) carry directly into how I approach software product development today, especially when working with complex enterprise systems.

The second half of my career has focused on software product development: leading teams and managing requirements for complex enterprise systems across industries including education, energy, semiconductors, and AI. Today, I lead Planorama Design, a software design and product strategy firm, and I serve as Chief Product Officer of FlashQuery, an enterprise AI orchestration platform spun out of Planorama in 2025.

Alongside my product work, I have also been a longtime community builder, having founded and grown the largest technology community in Austin, Texas, bringing engineers, entrepreneurs, and innovators together around shared challenges and emerging trends.
